Ask George Richardson

This is your opportunity to ask me anything. Please see below for previous questions and answers.

Tom asks

What goes through your mind during a race?

Even before I get on the grid, I'm in the zone and concentrating fully on the task in hand. When you lose focus, mistakes happen and in this championship, mistakes will be punished. I enjoy leading races and find it easy to absorb myself in churning out lap after lap. But I also thrive on the pressure of being immersed in a battle. When you're challenging for positions and swapping paint, the race passes by so quickly you don't have time to think about anything else.

John asks

Has there ever been a time when you haven’t wanted to go out and race?

I can confidently say that there has never been a time when I've questioned my determination to race. I race cars because I love it and want to win every time I get into one. As an aspiring racer, If I didn't have these feelings I wouldn't go out and race.

I don't think that it's healthy to dwell on accidents as it can affect your confidence and determination. You just need to give 110 per cent and focus on the present rather than the past.

Jenna asks

If you could design your perfect track, what would it be like?

That's a really tough one as there are many tracks that I enjoy. Firstly, I'd have to include a few turns from Brands Hatch. I really enjoyed visiting there earlier this year and the track is fantastic. I'd also include certain aspects of the Thruxton, in particular the back section which is really fast and flowing. I'd also include some aspects of Oulton Park as I have some really fond memories there and it's my local circuit!

I've obviously been brought up on the tight, twisty circuits in the UK so that's all I really know. I do like the looks of some of the tracks I see on TV like Laguna Seca and Phillip Island. I'm sure as my career develops so will my opinions.

Col and Celia asks

Heartiest congratulations on an outstanding performance at Brands and, Boy, what a finale. Well done and all the best for 2011.

Thanks for the message Col and Celia, and everyone else that has been in contact to congratulate me. Its good to hear that so many people were supporting me at Brands Hatch I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! I look forward to revealing my plans for 2011 as soon as I can.

Malcolm asks

George, we met you last year at Croft when we were guests of Joe Henderson. We were hoping to meet you again this year but note that the Porsche are not at Croft this year. Can you tell me why?

Many thanks for this question as no doubt a lot of people have been thinking the same thing. Croft this year has been replaced with a round at the Nurburgring, Germany as part of the Porsche birthday celebrations.
