16.08.10Ready to race!

I actually cannot wait for the races at Silverstone. Just thinking about it gets my adrenaline pumping. Its such a legendary circuit with so much history and prestige, its one of those places that you live to race at. Its the race I have been waiting for all year.

If I had to pick a place to win at it would definitely be Silverstone, so hopefully I can break my duck so far this year and finish on the top step. It would be a dream come true! I actually got the opportunity a few weeks ago to go to Silverstone for the World Superbike Championship and meet up with James Toseland. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and gave me a taste of what racing is like on the world stage. It was unbelievable.

The circuit itself is a great place to drive. The corners are all fast and flowing with lots of run-off so you can really attack the track. We did a press day there earlier in the year and that went really well. We put in some competitive times and ran consistently at the top of the time sheets, so I think we will do well. The key to a good race will be to qualify well. Even though the track is wide, it is hard to pass because it is so fast. You need to be with the leading group or they will break away and you will be left in no-mans land. I know what I have to do.

Away from the track I have been continuing to work hard in the gym to make sure I remain focused and ready to win. I feel like the first half of the year was a learning period for me and now I want to start thinking about winning races on a regular basis.
