- Porsche Carrera Cup GB
In 2011 the Porsche Carrera Cup GB will once again run alongside the MSA British Touring Car Championship. The 10-weekend schedule features two races at the leading race circuits in Britain including Donington Park, Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Oulton Park.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is broken down into three championships, Pro, Pro-am1 and Pro-am 2. The Pro-am 1 category caters for the less-experienced and non-professional racers, allowing them to drive for their own points and prize money away from the Pro category, which is specifically tailored for professional drivers. Meanwhile, the pro-am2 category caters for 2006 and 2007 model cars and offers series newcomers the chance to sample the Carrera Cup on a restricted budget.
In total, the championship prize fund is almost £100,000 and at the end of each season, three road-going 911s will be presented. One will be presented to the overall series champion, one for the pro-am1 champion and one for the winning team principal. Each winner will be allowed full use of a Porsche 911 road car for the following year.
The level of commitment to the Carrera Cup GB underlines the importance of motorsport as a platform for promoting the Porsche brand. With big crowds, live TV coverage and plenty of on-track action from the stunning 911 GT3 Cup cars, the Carrera Cup GB is set for another superb season in 2011.

In 2010, an estimated 300,000 fans watched the Carrera Cup GB races live at the circuits during the 10-weekend schedule. The events offered an excellent geographic spread, from Brands Hatch in Kent to Knockhill in Scotland.
Meanwhile, over 14 million people saw television coverage of the championship, live on race day via ITV4. The Carrera Cup GB featured extensive live coverage, spanning up to three quarters of the races. This involved more than an hour of live transmission on some race days and at least half an hour of live coverage on each of the 10 Sundays as part of the overall BTCC package.
Then, the Carrera Cup GB features dedicated hour-long highlights programmes in the Motorsport UK series, which is broadcast on ITV1 and then shown twice on ITV4 in prime slots. This highlights programme takes the total TV audience to more than 10 million UK viewers.

Since the inception of the Porsche Carrera cup GB in 2002, it has become one of the most prestigious single-make race series' in the UK. All teams within the championship will run identical examples of the 911 GT3 Cup car, which has evolved from the excellent production 911 GT3.
The British Porsche Carrera Cup championship runs on the same basis as the seven other national Porsche championships throughout the world, held in Germany, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Asia, Australia and Japan.
